Turnip 'Golden Ball' - Seeds

Dwarf, compact plants producing round roots with tender yellow flesh. Very hardy with outstanding keeping qualities. Excellent for storage and exhibition.

Growing Information

Sow May-July outdoors. For Turnip tops - sow in August, scattering seed thinly and evenly on prepared soil. Rake in lightly. (6-10 weeks maturity.)

Sowing Information

Sow thinly direct into finely raked, warm, moist soil at a depth of 13mm ( 1?2") in rows about 30cm (12") apart. Germination 6-10 days. Thin seedlings to 10cm (4") between plants.
Use thinning as tasty 'turnip tops'; in mixed salad or steam as a delicious vegetable.
Grow best in well cultivated soil containing some lime. Water well during periods of dry weather.
Excellent for autumn/winter storage. Twist off tops, store in boxes of sand or soil in garage or shed.
